Bharat Drone Mahotsav, India’s biggest-ever drone festival, is a two-day event, which was celebrated on 27th and 28th of May 2022. It was held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and was inaugurated by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event led to the interaction of the PM with Kisan drone pilots, start-ups in the drone exhibition center as well as witnessing the open-air drone demonstrations.
Over 1,600 delegates, comprising foreign diplomats, government officials, central armed police forces, armed forces, private companies, PSUs as well as drone start-ups had participated in the event.
In this event, over 70 exhibitors displayed various uses of drones not only in the defence sector but also manifested the audience regarding the magnificent role of drones in the agricultural sector.The Bharat Drone Mahotsav also witnessed

As drone technology has its application in diverse areas such as defence, disaster management, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, film and entertainment, there is a great possibility of a major revolution creating immense opportunities for employment.
The significance of Drone Mahotsav is to spread awareness among the public that the promotion of drone technology is the medium of advancing our commitment to good governance and ease of living.
Villages are witnessing the arrival of roads, electricity, optical fiber and digital technology. However, agricultural work is still being conducted using old technologies, leading to hassles and low productivity. The Government of India is making efforts to transform the old slow techniques to the new speeding technologies resulting in empowerment of farmers and modernizing their lives. Bharat Drone Mahotsav is one such initiative taken by the government. Some other schemes include:
“The Svamitva Scheme” which has helped about half a million village residents to get their property cards by mapping out the densely-populated areas.
“The Kisan Drone Suvidha” an initiative for the betterment of the agricultural sector of the country, has the aim of developing one lakh drones. As a support to this, PM Modi flagged off 100 Kisan drones across the country in early 2022.
